Integrity, Ethics, Hard Work.
Those are the values I was raised with on the family farm. They were strengthened in the more than thirty years I spent serving in the Marine Corps. They led me to my next career working to make mental health care safer and more accessible to all Americans. And those have been the guiding principles my wife, Yana, and I used to raise our children.
I have never seen our country as divided as it is today. I am a Democrat, and it pains me to see leaders on both sides of the aisle show more commitment to squabbling with each other than to finding real solutions for the American people.
I’m ready to serve my fellow Virginians with integrity, ethics, and hard work and I’m proud to announce my candidacy for Virginia’s First Congressional District.

Stewart Navarre has spent his life serving his country. The son of a small town farmer, a retired Marine Colonel, and a business leader, Stewart is running for Congress in this competitive district because partisan politics is threatening the country he dedicated his life to serve and defend.
Long before joining the Marines, Stewart learned the values of integrity, ethics, and hard work on the family farm. Guided by these values, Stewart attended the United States Naval Academy compelled to be a part of something bigger than himself.
Stewart served for over 30 years as a Marine officer, deploying to Iraq, Japan, Argentina, and other locations around the world. Whether it was coordinating the deployments of special operations forces at the Joint Staff within the Pentagon, serving as the Commanding Officer of the 5th Marines, leading training operations of Iraqi security forces, supporting the first democratic elections in Iraq, or serving as the chief of staff for seven Marine bases: Stewart never let politics get in the way of doing what was right and getting the job done. When his time in the Marines came to an end, Stewart was not finished serving.
Stewart began his career in private industry as the Director for Project Management at one of the world’s largest commercial real estate companies. He then spent nearly a decade as the Vice President of Research with a medical technology company focused on improving the prescription of behavioral health medications in the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other diagnoses.
To help Virginia’s First District recover from the pandemic and embrace the future, we need a representative with real-world experience – a leader with a proven track record of working with everyone to accomplish the mission. As a Marine and a business leader, Stewart has the character, skills and commitment to our country that the people of Virginia’s First District deserve representing them in Congress.
Stewart and his wife, Yana, live in King George, VA and have two adult children, both of whom have served in the armed services.
